This is a squeak sound that i created by pressing a laundry cup together with my hands. It took me a very long time to replicate this exact sound as i had to press the laundry cup in my hands just the right amount to make this exact sound. I recorded this sound with my iphone. I wanted to make a sound effect for a game i'm developing, and so i recorded a 100-mm artillery cannon at camp williams (utah national guard), then modified the sounds using audacity. The recording was done on an olympus digital recorder in the mid-2000s (first decade). It sounded a little to me like the tribute cannon from hunger games (the sound effect that signals the deaths of the tributes), thus the name.

I have a metal container that is used to collect coins. Its lid is on a hinge and when this lid is hit it bounces, making progressively quieter noises each bounce. Fun stuff. Recorded with a boss br864 digital studio and a shure mic.

An earthquake that ripples through from far away and then makes the roof of a house crack and cave in. Used audacity to manipulate a couple different sounds to create the rumble of the earthquake. Then i added the cracking noise in the same program from a different effect (wood breaking).

I needed a wall of crickets but could not find a decent one so i used some samples and multiplied them to make it sound like hundreds of crickets. Enjoy. Nice to fall asleep to, but the loop points could use some fixing-up.

This sound is a pitched down recording of a metal knife striking the prongs of a metal fork. I added some reverb and adjusted the eq to make it sound like distant swords striking each other. This was used to simulate the ambient sounds of cutlasses in a pirate battle. In addition to clashing swords, this track could be adjusted to mimic the sounds of a blacksmith working at his anvil or flint and steel in lighting a fire, among other sound effects.

This a spare recording from a short film i was making. It's a stereos track but all sounds are recorded to the left channel. This was recorded on a zoom h4n and a sennheiser me67. This sound is me walking on several surfaces near a stream in cornwall, uk. I walk in a woodland first, then on a road, then by a stream.

While doing sit-ups in my bedroom - i've discovered that the friction of my back with the floor makes hilarious "fart-like" sounds. I grabbed my zoom h4n recorder - and recorded some. Good fart sounds are sometimes not so easy to find :). (this is file 2 of 2. Each was recorded in a different rec. Level. . . ).
